This is Going to be the Best Christmas EVER!!

Looks like there's a lot of Christmas activity being planned for tomorrow. That's right! In case you live on Mars....

Christmas Eve is Tomorrow!!!

This year is going to be a little different. As you all know there will be no big opening of presents this year. Instead we are only taking the Gift exchange presents and the presents for the White Elephant Game. (Exchange and Game Times TBA)

(And remember this doesn't mean that you can't bring a present you have for someone else so they can take it home and open it on Christmas day. Bring the presents for your God Kids or that cousin you got a gift for so they can take it home)

We are going to have a pinata which Mi Tia Silva is making as I write. And I hear candy as well, Which is some old tradition they had in Mexico which I guess they will explain.

And of course we will have a performance by the younger cousins.

So lots of new activities this years. Hopefully we will be entertained til 6 in the morning...Okay like 1 or 2.

Oh! and Favorite Uncle...Trust! You do not want to know about twitter. Its addicting. Here is my twitter. You can go to the other cousins twitters from there.

New Translator

You can now read the blog in Spanish or any other language you want. Simply scroll down on the google translator to the desired language and it will translate the whole page.

And if you don't know what I'm talking about, It the thing above the posts right under the Page Header in the middle. So tell all the aunts and uncle that have been wanting to read the blog that it now available in Spanish. Or tell your Japanese friend that has always wanted to read about our family that he can now do it.

Oh! and thank Gaby for finding this.

PEACE

So Milo came to see me for therapy today...

He has some unresolved issues.
WHY IS OUR FAMILY SO COMPLICATED!?

The Gonzalez drama seems to follow us through all holidays.

Start the Exchange over

I Propose that we do the exchange over and add more cousins. If we do do no presents this year and only the exchange. We should include every cousin thats going to be at Christmas that wants to do it.

We made the exchange on thanksgiving and it was only like 3 of us thinking of people that would want to be in it, and of course we forgot people.

So call all the cousins and see if this is a good idea. and find out who else wants to take part in the new tradition.

and since the young kids are doing an exchange too. We might not even need any other gifts.

My Idea:
  • Get every cousin that wants in on the exchange
  • Have the young cousin do there own too
  • If the aunts and uncle want to do one to, Even Better!
  • Open these exchange presents at midnight (no early then that)

no other presents will be opened that night (if you have a gift for another family member bring it and give it to them so they can take it home and open it in the morning)

This way everyone is happy and no one gets a better present then the other since there is a limit on how much.

Whatcha Think?

Less is More

I've been thinking a lot about the holidays this year and I am really excited for the first time in a long time because we have Andy to share it all with. But at the same time I became sort of sad at the thought of all the gifts we had to buy and the not so great financial situation we are currently in. And I realized we are not alone. We are all taking a hit during these tough financial times. Some more than others. For some it may be a matter of "Will I be able to afford that daily latte?" and for others it's more like "Will we be able to afford our next mortgage payment." It's the reality of our times. This is when I began to think of the motto "less-is-more."

Our family has always been BIG on a huge family Christmas, and I love it. I love getting together and eating and singing and opening presents. But I do believe that amongst all the material items we have lost the true meaning of the holidays. It seems that Christmas has became a competition of who will get the most or biggest or best present. The tradition of waiting until midnight is no longer upheld.

With so many families struggling this holiday season I suggest we take a less-is-more approach. Let's remember why we get together and celebrate in the first place. In a year full of ups and downs within our family it is even more reason to be thankful for what we already have. Most importantly - our health. Thankful that our grandparents continue to be fight on and continue to be with us.

I have heard people say they don't want to get together this year. And no one has said it, but I know it's because it's just to expensive to compete. Sad but true that it does work this way. The younger generation has gotten so use to this that they EXPECT great gifts so everyone else could "oh" and "ah". So I propose we get together, eat and enjoy each others company without the stress of material gifts. Maybe leave the gifts for Christmas morning or once you return home. Maybe call it an early night this year. I mean, it's not like anyone waits till midnight anymore anyway.

Just an idea and solely my opinion. But we should all definitely take a step back and figure out what it is that we love to do during the holidays and what it is that we hate about the holidays and be happy. For example:

I love:
- to decorate my home
- drink holiday coffee drinks
- giving presents to my immediate family
- midnight mass

I hate:
- Christmas cards [what do I do with them afterwards?]
- Long shopping lists
- feeling stressed out during a happy time

No one should feel obligated to do anything. We should all take a less-is-more approach to the holidays. Be happy. Go out and do what you enjoy with your family. Make new traditions, but please don't let our old family tradition of celebrating on Christmas Eve be ruined by material woes. It would be so sad for this gathering to disappear because of this.

Think about.

As I was saying...

Therapy 101 provided by Therapy in a Box:

If you talk to God, you are praying. If God talks to you, you have schizophrenia.

A Psychiatrist asks a lot of expensive questions that your wife will ask for free.

The statistics on sanity are that 1 out of every 4 Americans is suffering from some form of mental illness. Think of your 3 best friends. If they are okay, then it’s you.

Gamophobia: Fear of marriage (sounds familiar)

Kathisophobia: Fear of sitting down (all you couch potatoes, its not you)

Now that you guys have all analyzed your selves, its time for Adeedodokie’s blog!

As I was telling my Twitter world, I tried really hard to get to work late today but instead failed miserably as I got here 45min early.

It looks like Kenny and Milo might be headed for a shelter. There have been talks about selling the Kenny and Milo house.

There was a kid who was ran over and killed in South Gate waiting for the bus after school after a van blew a tire out. Wondering if I’m going to have a No-Show today.

I have floor tickets for this Sunday’s Lakers game….well not exactly floor tickets but 6 rows back from 1st row.

I bought my first Lakers shirt on Sunday.

Mario Jr Gonzalez deserves a cookie for being one of a handful of physically active Gonzalezes. He did pretty damn good on our mountain run on Sunday. I kinda felt like a looser.

This coming Sunday we will be running/walking/hiking the Rose Bowl trail. Come if you aren’t too lazy.

Lets play a guessing game:

Where would each of the Valdez-Gonzalez family members end up living? K-Dog and Gay-Dog are members of the family and not pets! So let’s guess! Who ever gets it right will get to help us move.

Gotta attend an 11am meeting!

Thanksgiving

I can smell the smoked ham already
The slowly roasted turkey
The sweet Pumkin Pie

I can see the family hand and hand saying a prayer.
The kids table
The laughs, the gossip
the people going back to get seconds

I can't believe we are so close to the holiday season. I just have one Question?..........

WHERE IS THANKSGIVING GOING TO BE???

Does anybody know?
Anyone?
So close yet I haven't heard any talks about where and who is making what...
All i know is who ever is in charge of the ham cook it right...Not like last year!!

November Birthdays

There are a lot of birthdays in November, but it seems like no one is having a party. Whats up with that?

What ever happened to the Cathy/Elena Parties?

Those were fun parties. It seems that no one has thrown a birthday party this year. (Except for Nancy's 21st Birthday party) I think it time for someone to throw a party. With all these posts of nothing but bad news after bads news we need something to cheer us up and I think a party is just the thing our family needs.

Soooo.....

Someone set up and throw a party!!!!!

A call to all siblings, nephews and nieces.

EVERYBODY:
As all of you know Papa Lupe is in the Hospital, unfortunatelly he has been very depressed for obvious reasons, after all being in a hospital is no picnic. But also, he has many Sons, Daughters, Grandsons, Grandaughter, and even Great grandkids, and he still feels lonely in the hospital because we do not visit him enough, I got to admit and take my part of guilt, last week I hardly ever visited him, but I went to see him yesterday, and also this morning before work.
So, now I am making a call to all direct descendants of Papa Lupe, to come to visit him, you don't have to stay for too long, ten minutes is more than enough, if you go East towards Covina, make a point to stop by and see him, every body counts, and each visit should make wonders on his healing process.

DRAMA FO'YA MOMMA!

I couldn't resist so I'm going to post it in code.

Someone who has been trying to get in good with the g-pa's has created a complete mess with my grandfather's hospital situation, to the point were a nurse told someone that she (the nurse) is no longer willing to help the g-pa because our family is "too difficult to deal with." From the beginning this person tried to take charge and now its all backfiring! There are details but I came to work early to actually work and not blog!

O&BTW, Thanks to PJ my grandfather's medicare has kicked in! Thanks girl!

GRANDPA: UPDATE

Papa Lupe lays in a hospital bed in pain as we speak. The hospital has dragged their feet in getting his Medicaid papers filed so that he may be transported to another clinic in West Covina where Dr. Carlos Lugo can operate on him. He has a severely broken hip which, in turn, has caused his leg to come out of place. This hospital he is at in El Monte (i think?) took him off pain meds and his IV because they "thought" he would be transported soon. Except they're the ones who haven't filed the appropriate paper work. At least he still has some antibiotics running thru him. Tia Silvia and Tio Mario should be there trying to sort things out as we speak. Poor Papa Lupe.

Grandma is being told today by Tia Cuca about Papa Lupe. Let's hope she doesnt stress herself out with this new information.

Keep them both in your prayers.

GRANDPA

Papa Lupe & Tia Cuca were on their way to see Abuelita via bus. Papa Lupe injured his leg stepping off the bus at the Chichuahua stop. Injured as in broke. We think. Cuca helped him through the 5 hour journey to La Puente. They didn't even notify the bus driver of his injury until they arrived in El Paso and boarder patrol asked them to step off the bus. Thank God Elena Lugo happend upon my mom's house and mentioned she knew the bus driver. He took care of Cuca and Papa Lupe. Cuca think it might even be his hip. If it is he will need surgery.

Upon arrival in La Puente he was transported to a hospital via ambulance. He was gonna be taken by Tio Mario but couldnt move (I won't mention that money whore). Carlos Lugo (Bone Specialist) is taking care of him at the hospital. We are currently waiting to hear the extent of his injury. Will update asap. My mom & Silvia are on their way to the ER.

Update on Abuelita:
She had a bad night. was too tired all night to get up. Still today she keeps saying she is too tired. It's not looking good guys. My mom was bawling this morning and I could barely keep it together. If you haven't seen Abuelita in a while, I suggest you make a visit now. Serio. She's had a pace maker for 11 years! Her heart is very tired. We need to be realistic and it effing sucks.

That's all for now.

GRANDMA

So the Gonzalez-Valdez (G-V) all now own U.S. passports. The ceremony was a complete mess of mass cultures. The shiznit was long, hot, and unnecessary.

My grandma helped me wash my car.

My grandma is not doing too well, she gets easily tired, says she doesn't feel well, and really...I think people should start making an effort to visit her more often and I'm not talking about the siblings, but more the cousins. She looks bored. I tried taking her to the park today just to get her out but she wasn't feeling too good so instead she helped out with the carwash and then she walked Kenny and Milo (alone). We're working her here in the G-V home. Carolina also took it easy today and decided to have my grandmother make her some lentejas and give her a bath. My g-mom has spent so much time alone with Kenny and Milo that she now speaks their language ("woof, woof" and "ruff, ruff")

Cuca and Don Lupe get here on Friday (or Saturday). They're coming on the bus.

My g-mom enjoys watching the cooking channel and likes to watch Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern on the Travel Channel...last time she was watching it with me she was telling me how she has eaten bulls balls just like Andrew and was saying how delicious they are...no comment.

My grandmother's appetite has been poor...she nibbles on Kenny and Milo's Kibbles n' Bits and sucks on their rawhide.

Well, I hope my update on the g-mom has been informative and has made YOU want to come and visit her.

-Adeedodoo LOVES her g-mom.

Adeedodoo says...

Who needs a family blog when we have Twitter and know when every person in the FAM is doing something, thinking of something (including taking a shit) all in the palm of our hands!?

Geemoney (Gerardo Garcia)
Geefunk (Gaby)
RobertitoV
pinkappleslife (Alejandra)
pinkchopsticks (Jessica)
catdogg (Cat)
3dimples (Cecy)
arturog (Arturo)
coolkid23 (Anabel)
ayemgee (Mariela)
and more...

Know when adeedodoo just ate a bug, when Cathy just dropped a "duece", when Gaby is spending all her time doing a bunch of nothing like eating out or hanging out with the other mommies, when Gerardo has a lunch break at 7am, when Arturo is out at a Palin Rally, when, Mariela has a random thought, when Robert has a stupid thought, when Jessica questions the mailman on his poor time managment, and when Alejandra got a C on her history test...AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

A Bunch of NADA.

I’m spending my Saturday replaying the songs American Boy, Love Lockdown, and Whatever You Like, as I am pretending to work on some dumb-ass paperwork I had to bring home from work because there is not enough hours in the god-damn day to do it all during the freakin’ work week! So I decided that after 30 minutes of hard workin’ to update the Gossip Blog.

What’s new with the FAM? Well, our g-mom went to her doctor on…ummm…one of these days and she found out that she does NOT have bruised ribs but instead BROKE EVERY SINGLE RIB in her poor weak body! So the G’s broken into pieces…literally LOL, about now being able to go back Tepetongo. We are looking into getting her IHSS (In Home Support Service) through her Medi-Care but in the meantime they have hired someone (part-time) to look after her during the day. Carolina (Roberto’s sister) is taking care of her. She took care of her this past week at the Milo-and-Kenny house and I came home to some good-ass HOT food! Let’s give it up for CARO! Oh, and our bathroom trashcan was emptied out on a daily basis without even asking (we only empty it out once a week if we’re lucky).

Hortenc and Lola passed their interview for their citizenship. Lola went to go celebrate her “legality” in Vegas with Elena and Lupita. Lola went to her mammogram appointment an apparently they found something…wish her luck.

Tola went to sleep last night and woke up a billionaire. Don’t try to be her bestfriend now.

I went to go eat at Roy’s Hawaiin Fusion Cuisine last night at the corner of Colorado and El Mo. We waited almost 2 hours for our appetizers, another 40 minutes for our main course, but the food was BOMBAY, except that I got sick (immediately) and had to ask for a barf bag! My food was free.

Dodgers better not win tonight cuz I have tickets to the game for tomorrow!

Update on Gossip

Oh, by the way, the much anticipated reunion of 2 ex-love birds was a complete disappointment. No fueron los galanes :(

My Today's Thoughts of Yesterday's Event

It’s fascinating how people change when in love…

I missed grams at the wedding L

An obviously thinner and younger looking Julio was married last night to what appeared to seem like a very nice lady. However, she failed to go to our table to thank us for attending such a beautiful wedding so I never really confirmed how nice she is.

I never talked to her…

Last night had to be the most awkward of the awkward. I was confused. My feelings were derailed throughout the night. I didn’t know if it was okay to be enjoying myself so much or if I should look displeased or WTF!

I “unfortunately” (dripping with sarcasm-*squeegee*squeegee* [the sound of my screen as I’m wiping off the sarcasm]) missed the beginning of last night’s festivities so I am unable to comment in detail about the antecedents to the end of an ASS-some night! I will cliff-note it for you guys because I can go on “forever ey” (that’s chola talk).

Cathy and Helen had the pleasant surprise of not being in the wedding due to some time management issues with the dresses. Unreliable sources report that Amelia The Second purposely was unable to finish the dresses. So Cat and Helen got a free pass to sit in the audience. Being super attentive as the Gonzalez members are…oh, that was a TYPO! Having short-attention spans, sidetracking problems, and distractibility like our family, some of you snickered during the sermon part where some BS about ‘knowing each other for a very long time’ was said. Sources confirm that both sides of the family engaged in this attention-seeking behavior. Okay, now for the good part:

What do you get when you have ASS-some food such as Deviled Potatoes (who would have known you can devil potatoes), strong drinks, and a DJ who is family? A stinky-ass, sweaty-ass, DANCE FLOOR! Drunk-Lola, Foot-Loose Lupito, and Pop-Blockin’ Anthony took over the dance floor, while I occasionally made my presence on it. Special appearances were made by Mario Jr, Omar, and Gilbert (not on the dance floor…well, Mario and Omar attempted).

Who would have thunk that Julio would EVER dance to Britney Spears? Or dance The Forbidden Dance as he approached Mrs. Gonzalez to remove the garter belt, OR who would have ever pictured Julio REMOVING A GARTER BELT!!?? I took Julio the right size garter belt but he rejected it. Ahhh, it seems so dream-like hearing Julio say "amaren a esos ninos!" That was so not him last night! FRONT! FRONT! FRONT! ATS (Amelia The Second) will be pleasantly surprised when the REAL SLIM SHADY comes out! I do love him! Because of him we are here in BIG BAD ASS PASADENA! Otherwise we would all been a product of Tepetongo life..UGH! And in all honesty, I want to see everyone in my family happy!

Roberto told Sira to take some dance lessons from me.

No one toasted to the bride and groom. DJ Heady made an attempt to get the crowd going but disgustingly failed…horrifying! Bitches better toast at my wedding! Bitches better SINCERELY enjoy being at my wedding too! I’ll make a mental note too that I better not wait to 62 for my wedding and if I do wait that long, backless will not be a wise choice (Cecy knows what that means). Uff, time is tickin'

A marriage that is built on a foundation of lies, will only last till you run out of lies.

Lola kept on repeating REMOVED PER REQUEST

Gaby kept on repeating : “I’m free, no husband, no kid”…what does that mean?

Manfred kept on repeating: “I love you baby”…I never really know what that means; I can never figure him out!

I overheard “the girls” in the bathroom talkin’ ‘bout “I spit the nugee in the milk and ______ drank it.”

Overall the wedding was a blast!

I wonder what the couple did on their wedding night when they got to their Honeymoon destination “The Ritz”?

BREAKING JUICY EXCITING NOSEY NEWS!!!! (A piggyback from the comment in the Tio Julio's wedding section...)

What can be better than watching Julio marry a second Amelia? Bridesmaid dresses made by the bride? Yes! But that's not it. Watching Cathy and Elena walk down the isle in a bridesmaid dress? Yes, that too, but that's not it. Mi Abuelita "giving away" Julio for the 2nd time? Heck yeah that's a priceless moment, but again, not it! As a matter of fact, I think Tona Martinez will refuse to do that one. What I am referring to is a long awaited reunion between to ex-love birds! Ahhhh, the joy of nosey-ness. I can't say who they are. That would not be nice. I already made the announcement publicly and to give away names would just be immoral :) Anyhow, from what I know is that these two people don't like each other much... have not spoken to each other for quite some time... One is still heartbroken while the other has moved on.... TA-TA-TA-TAN!

In other news, my tummy is bubbly...I unfortunately had a latte with regular milk. (OMFG, did I just give away my identity???)

Breaking News!!

I have just been informed about some breaking news.
I am sad to say that today Christy has lost her baby.

She is doing okay.

The good news is that they called the stork and they have scheduled an appointment to try again soon. So with a little luck they will have another baby soon.

Here's to the future!!!

THE PROOF!!!!

The proof is finally here!!!! Got this picture from Cathy's myspace.... Looks like she's been keeping this secret for awhile now.... No wonder why she isn't at family gatherings anymore?!?!?!

Thalk about accidents!

A year ago the worst accident you have seen.!!!!!!......
Well, little girl, I suffered one of my worst accidents yesterday.
I felt on my back, my left elbow hit the the ground first, I tried to get up and my left hand did not feel right.
I saw it and I knew it was dislocated.
Elvia took me to the emergency room where the lower bone in my arm was brought back to right right place, not before sending me to revisit the 60's with a good dose of morphine.
So, I am out of commission for a while.

Catdog, please confess, I can understand that you feel sleepy working a grave-yard shift.

I worked it, for what seemed to be an eternity (two months.)

Is that the reason for being sleepy?

"Make Sure and Tell Them That Large Marge Sent Ya"

On this very night, ten years ago...yes sir, the worst accident I have ever seen.

Dottie.

Large Marge is Catdogg's nickname. She Smokes and drinks like a 45 year old truck driver so she can't be pregnant.

MOTHER-TRUCKER!

Esa Troca Madre!

I hate women who workout in in their regular bras. Buy a sports bra!!! Ross sells them for $7.

Kenny has psoriasis and his flakes stink!

We don't get subscriptions to meds but we get prescriptions (HUGO).

Mexican's need to invest in beach wear...

Secret Sport really works! Smell like cebolla? Try it.

29.99 sunglasses from Macy's have a life expectancy of 1+years.

Over exercising will cause really bad constipation...

STOP being so uptight! That's a problem..."that's why Cathy got pregnant" [Hugo quoted that].

Puerco Canyon.

Luminarias was Oscar De La Joya's spot and now it's Julio Gonzalez's spot.

I saw four Elephant Seals making out on the beach...they must've been from South Gate or East L.A.

Ohhh, Hugo said "She wasn't uptight..."

The Mystery Continues...

We completely forgot to suspect Cathy as the excepting mother. With her clever cover up on posting a comment....

"whoa whoa whoa!! hadn't been on the familia page and when i do i see that krusty AND someone else is preggers! congrats christy!! and the other one, too."

Everyone was suspecting Adriana because she calls Christy, Christinita. But there's another Valdez that has used that nickname.

I know thats really not enough info to suspect someone. Which is why I didn't at first. But this morning Nancy tells me to check out Cathy's myspace. So whats on her myspace?

catdogg's Details
Status:Engaged
Orientation:Straight
Hometown:PASADENA...till i die!
Body type:8' 11" / More to love!
Ethnicity:Latino / Hispanic
Zodiac Sign:Scorpio
Children:Expecting
Occupation:professional DODGER fan!
Income:$250,000 and Higher

Did you notice anything? Look at the Children Answer...Yup! EXPECTING. So now the question is is she just messing around or trying to put out little clues for people?

Follow Up to Wedding Post

Here are the details that have been circulating in the gossip circles about Julio's pending nuptials.

The wedding is in September [26th I think...a Friday] and the ceremony will take place at St. Philip [?] in Pasadena and the reception at Luminarias [with Mariachi!]. I hear the invitations are being printed.

Word on the street is he is selling his house too. There was an open house this past weekend. The latest is that he and his bride are moving to Temecula....she has family there. Buying some big property or something.

That's the latest and greatest!

~ Geefunk

New Beginnings

It has come to my attention that our uncle Julio has been re-married. According to a source, the news about the wedding has been traveling through the aunts and uncles. I don't have the details of when the wedding was or where the ceremony took place, but I will find out in the next days. Or I'm sure after reading this you'll just start to ask everyone. What ever you do is kool!!!

Congrats Tio Julio!!!

I like this picture

I like it because you can see two waterfalls in the back ground. We actually hiked to the lower waterfall which is about two miles from our camp and it is a clim of 1000 feet. I had a lot of fun getting up, and even though coming down was much harder, it was also a blast.
I really recomend this hike to anybody who likes nature, because it doesn't get much better than this.

Hmmm.........

Its been a little Strange that I haven't heard any gossip about anyone lately?!?! A little too strange. Ever Since this blog was made people have been getting real quite about there gossip. Better View in the Birthday Suit

Andres Gerardo Garcia

Welcome to the world Andy Garcia!!!!!

After a long labour, Gaby gave birth to Andy at 6:07pm

Coming in at 6 pounds 11 Ounces, 19 inches

After hours of nothing happening, Gaby had to decide whether she wanted a C section or just wait it out. So instead of waiting she decided to go for it and it was the best choice cause they later found out the little guy was stuck... thats why he took so long.

But all is well and should be coming home in the next couple of days

I'm Baaaack!

Besides Gaby being in labor as I type this, the other good news is I'm back! I'm a little "tired" at the moment and apparently burned some brain cells last night but I am BACK! I love the "Where is Adeedoo" blog. I will soon post some blogs.

-Adeedodoo missed you guys.

P.S. PUSH, Gaby, PUSH!

Where In The World Is Adee Doo Doo?

She has disappeared!!!! Ever since her graduation from college, Adee has gone missing. She is always at every family party, and every... well everything!! Could she be out on another vacation with MAN-Fred? He is a lawyer now and has cash.
MAYBE... some where tropical?!?! (cause you know how much Adriana likes to tan{she use to tan in her back yard while doing homework})
That would explain her not posting anything in awhile... Maybe she has no Internet access? But that doesn't make sense cause her last login in to myspace was today?? Is she not visiting the family blog anymore? Is she trying to get away from the family?
This could explain her absence from family gathering...Who KNOWS?!?!?!?!

The Money Saving Uncle!!!!

Word on the street is that Uncle Lupito rides his bike to work. Now some of you are saying "So!!! lots of people do this...whats so special about riding your bike to work?"
WELL!! Lupito lives in Glendora (or San Dimas...not sure?!?!) and he works at caltech in Pasadena which is about 18 miles apart. It usually takes him about an hour and a half to get to work.

Talk about saving some gas money...

Oh!! but then some birdie told me that he sometimes puts his bike on those bus racks and rides the bus all the way to pasadena.
But hey!! He still has to ride his bike some of the way.

Makes me want to start ride my bike to downtown l.a to work everyday...Save some gas......

Hmmmm....Maybe NOT!!!

Dinner at Ketchup

I thought that it would be a good idea to have dinner somewhere nice for Elena's promotion. I invited some of the girl cousins to have dinner at Ketchup in West Hollywood. Elena, Gaby, Jessica, Nancy, Manfred (I know he's not one of the girl cousins but anyway) and Me had dinner there last night. I picked Ketchup because of the connection with The Hills. This is the restaurant that Audrina and Justin went on a date to, the restaurant that Lauren and Brody ran into Heidi and Spencer, when Heidi sent them a drink! You have to watch The Hills to know what the heck I'm talking about. Anyhow, it's on the popular Sunset strip in West Hollywood so I was hoping to run into celebrities, especially because it was a Wed. night and we know celebrities party on that day. They are too good to party on weekends with the rest of the normal people. Right away Gaby spotted one of the Sister Sister (either Tia or Tamara). She was having dinner directly in front of us. We, of course, did not make a big deal and played it off as if we always had dinner next to celebrities. Jessica said that Alejandra was going to be soooooooo jealous! Then I spotted one of the owners of the Dolce Group, the one that went on Millionaire Matchmaker. The A-hole that couldn't get a date. Well, he is short, fat and balding. I was super excited to see him since I couldn't stop talking about him after the show. Actually, Cathy, Manfred and Me could not stop hating him after the show. I hate him so much that I like him. I think its a Hiedi thing. My food and Nancy's food sucked! Nancy had the 2 mini hotdogs (shown in the picture) and I had the Veggie or Tofu burger (I was trying to be cheap and healthy but backfired on me). My Martini also sucked butt. Gaby had the best plate; Sloppy Joe! Jessica had a really good salad, Elena had a chicken plate which she liked and Manfred had a steak. They serve 5 different types of Ketchup: Honey, Chipotle, Ranch, Maple, and regular in these tiny square cups. They also have 3 different types of fries that they serve as appetizers: Garlic fries, Sweet Potato Fries and some other fries. They were YUMMY!
We sat right underneath the Heinz Ketchup picture (shown in picture). It was a "cool" atmosphere. Jessica called it "Hip". We really enjoyed it. After dinner we went kinda sightseeing. We drove by Le Deux and Boa. It was cool! Thanks cousins. Next time we are having dinner at Mr. Chows; another 10x more frequented celebrity restaurant. I think that right now that we are young and can go to places like these, we should take advantage of it! Just to say, "hey, I had dinner there and saw _________".

2008 Lakers Playoff Game: Game 2

This was all a last minute thing!
I went to the Laker game on Friday.  We had a nice couch in the Platinum VIP, right above the restaurant. It was pretty bad-ass. If they make it to the finals we will once more enjoy ourselves in the lap of luxury (well, somewhat "luxury", it's actually pretty plain).

HELP ADEEDODOO PAY FOR HER COLLEGE!

Hi Family,

You can help me pay for school and it won't cost you a dime!

I have activated a Upromise link to my school loan lender (SallieMae) to help me pay my school loans. What this does is every time I use a credit/debit card (that I have registered) at certain stores/restaurants/gas stations etc. a small percentage goes into paying off my school debt. I sent some of you an e-mail inviting you to participate and help me with my debt.

All you have to do is register your credit/debit card, use it, and I will start earning money.

If you would like to help, please e-mail me your current e-mail to adeevaldez@yahoo.com and I will send you the link.

Thanks and remember, I owe over 3 figures and I come from a very poor family :)

-Adeedodoo hopes to hear from you soon

Sunday Mother's Day BBQ

This is how it all went down yesterday:
  • Rubber-Toe took over Daddy's shoes and cooked the Carne Asada while Gerardo passed out the latest Playboy issue to the cousins sitting at the table that were swallowing chips and salsa.
  • Tola washed the dishes.
  • Sira spent more than an hour on the phone trying to convince Lola to come over after she had a bad day with her husband.
  • Lola and Jeanie fell: Lola fell walking up the stairs to the kitchen and Jeanie didn't see the chair in front of her and tumbled over. Apparently this was not Lola's first fall, she claims to have bit the dust walking out of church that same day and swears up and down that no one saw her. But WE SURE did see (and heard) her fall at the bbq. Jeanie said she hit the pavement HARD! Too bad we didn't see that one.
  • No alcohol involved in neither incident.
  • Tola washed the dishes.
  • Gaby brought over the tinniest cheesecake ever and every single person wanted some.
  • Omar came over and spent the entire day with us.
  • Tola washed more dishes.
  • Elena showed off her new purse.
  • Cathy was wearing table cloth shoes that fit Rubber-Toe.
  • We found hairs in the pasta salad and the green salad; neither hair belonged to Milo or Kenny.
  • Tola washed even more dishes.
  • Cecy got Parenting 101
  • Rubber-Toe took a dump-load of pictures that he claims he will put up soon.
  • Apparently no mom got any fancy-pants Mother's Day gifts.
  • Jeanie had the BESTESSES Mother's Day ever as her hubby surprised her with a gift and 2 cards for the first time in 13-years.
  • Chirsty and her baby were in attendance.
  • I ate over the recommended 2,000 calorie per day...maybe over 4,000 calories.
  • Tola washed all the dishes before heading back to Palm Springs.
Adeedodoo loves her family!

Mexican Word of the day:

"WHEELCHAIR"

"My homie was drinking a 40 and i said hey where's mine?
He says don't worry wheelchair"

Waka waka waka -RobeRt V.

On May 7, 2008 Mariela asked:

I have always wondered, why did you name Kenny, Kenny?

Well Mariela. As I laid on my bed thinking of what to name my new dog I was watching South Park and thought that naming Kenny after Kenny (“They killed Kenny again) would be nice and then right after my brilliant thought, a man named Kenneth came on TV (I forgot why) and I took it as a sign. Thanks for caring about K-Dog!

On May 7, 2008 Anonymous asked:

What school do you think you should have gone too? How long did it take you to complete general ed and transfer from PCC?

Well Anonymous, I NEVER in a million years did I EVER think that I would end up in graduate school, much less at USC! It took me approximately 8 years to complete my general ED at PCC (LOL. No joke!) and then decided that I needed to move on and ended up at UCSB. Ummm, a year after I graduated UCSB I decided that I wanted to see if I could get into grad school and applied to USC. My intentions were never to go to grad school; it was more to see if I could get in. And hey, guess what? I got in. So I decided to attend without realizing the cost of it. At the end, I think it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made! Although I have over a six figure debt I am proud to carry such a prestigious debt…

Side Note: Questions do not have necessarily be about me. But I likes.

Mi Opinion

On May 6, 2008 Rubber Toe asked:

Why do patients need therapy? What do you talk to them about? Do they talk about anything they want?

Well Rubber Toe, clients (not patients) have a variety of mental health issues that lead to dysfunctional behavior or a decrease in their ability to do their daily living activities (cook, clean, go to work, wipe their ass right). Their mental health problems might have to do with drug use, being sexually abused, family problems…you get the point. So my job is to figure out the underlying problem and help them understand how it is affecting them. I change people’s distorted thoughts and encourage them to do better. I only spend 50 minutes 1x per week for maybe 6 t0 9 months with clients. But it’s a little more complicated than this. Do you need a Masters degree to do this? YES. Was it worth going to USC for this? NO. Why? Because I am paying more on my loans than I will make in my entire life!!!!

On May 7, 2008 Geefunk asked:

Do you have to wear heels and a suit to your new job?

Hell nah! But I do like to wear heels to work. No suit. We are not allowed to go very professional or dressed up with bling because of the population we serve. At most agencies employees are very casual. They encourage this and discourage the professional look because then our clients won’t be able to build that necessary relationship that is needed in therapy because they might see us as sell outs or too good to understand their issues. I don’t even wear my Tiffany jewelry because of that. My wardrobe is very H & M and Fashion 21 Oriented with expensive shoes!

On May 7, 2008 Anonymous asked:

So why is it that dog’s paws smell like Doritos?

I’m glad you asked. The same moldy bacteria and fungus that grows underneath the dogs paws after months (or years) of not cleaning them is the same type of ingredients used to make Cheesy Doritos.

Got a Question? Just Ask Adeedodoo

I have decided that I will start my own section on this blog called: Ask Adeedoodo! It will be so L.A. Times like Dear Abby (did I get that right?). E-mail me at adeevaldez@yahoo.com with your burning question and I will post the question on this blog with my answer. Questions can be of any kind such as :

Why do dog paws smell like Doritos?

Is it true that your mom found "drugs" in your room when you were in high school (DISCLAIMER: Kids, this is just a pretend question)?

My husband beats me every night and tells me he does it because he loves me. Is this okay?

Any questions please send them to me and I will have the most up to date researched answers!

-La Reportera Adeedodoo

My section will be called "MI OPINION"

True or False? Is Christy Going to Iraq?

It has been rumored that Christy has been told that she will be serving in Iraq sooner than later. Sources close to her say that she does not want to go and that she will make all attempts in her power to stay in the U.S. So what are the options she is looking at? Pregnancy. According to sources close to her, Christy will attempt to get pregnant once again to not be sent to Iraq. What do you guys think? Is this just a rumor or is this seriously what is going on? And if in fact its true, what are your opinions?

For Shits and Giggles

I guess people have been slacking on posting blogs. Well I don't have much to say about people but I have a lot to say about me. As some of you know, Friday the 16th I will be walking. I seriously thought about not attending my own graduation but I just don't want to regret it later on. I have six tickets and only 3 guest, which means I have 3 tickets left. If any of you would like to attend the 10am (or 11am) ceremony let me know.

My last day of class was last Thursday. I have a good 3 weeks off before I start my new job. New job you ask? Why, yes. I am hired by St. Francis Medical Center to do outpatient therapy. It's very professional as I will be sitting in my own office.

Yes, 3 weeks is a lot of time doing nothing. But I have been very productive as I have attempted to go out almost every night. LOL. No, but seriously, I am bored. This past weekend I had dinner at Dolce on Melrose. Awesome place. Very celebrity. I had fun up until I got the bill. Word of caution: Always look at the prices when ordering seafood. After dinner I decided I wanted to go to Le Deux. If you guys are not familiar with Le Deux then you're just not with it! Anyway, we thought it was a good night to go since celebrities only party on Tuesdays and Wednesdays so we figured we would be able to get in. We get to this club and first of all its all hidden in back of a parking lot right next to Element and Pig n a Whistle (Further performed there). Second, we are the second "party" to get there and we start making line, as everybody else who is arriving. They said they open at 10pm. BILLSHIT! They open whenever the hell they want to. I think it was close to 11pm when they decided to let people in. Anyway, by 10:40pm they announce that there is no line and that people needed to gather along the fence. So what they do is hand pick who they want in. Well, we were the only Mexicans there and after 10 minutes passed by we were not the only Mexicans but we were the only one's standing outside trying to get in!!! LOL. Yeah so we left and ended up at Sugar. With a name like that I'm sure you know what kind of place that was!

So yeah, that's my exciting story of the week. Nothing special eh?

I know my posts are detailed and tedious at times to read but who cares...read on.

On Sunday I went with Helen and Lola to the Beverly Center as Helen was to embark on a very expensive purchase. She bought an ASS-some LV purse. I won't say how much but I think we all know it was over what we can all afford. I high-fived her for her fabulous purchased. Lola got the pleasure of carrying the purchased item as we walked to other stores and she was so nervous that she would lose it or someone would snatch it from her. Hahahaha. Later on that day I had Panda Express which left my behind feeling like Niagara Falls.

On another more serious note. I spent 12 of my precious hours at the Huntington Hospital on Saturday. My mom has been having severe back problems and we finally went to the ER and found out she has a fractured spine. We have not figured out what to do because she does not have insurance nor a doctor who can refer her to Orthopedics for a back brace...any suggestions?

I just gave Kenny and Milo a bath. Kenny hummed like stale shit and blood.

Okay well, cousins, aunts and uncles. I shall keep you guys posted on my exciting 3 weeks.

Random Monday Picture!!!

WEll SLIDE SHOW.... Like Gaby said in the last post, I do got photos of the remodeling in Action...Enjoy!!!!

Gabbing with Geefunk

I don't have any gossip either. Seems that since our Easter get together no one has had any "fun." Although I did get a few comments about the few I singled out. I'm just bustin' your chops guys!

G and I were in Vegas this weekend and got to see our awesome cousin Gerardo. What's new with him? He got Lasik and has braces! Congrats to you G! And I can share this news because his mom knows already. ;)

G and I saw "Mystere" by Cirque du Soleil. It was awesome and we recommend it to any family wanting to see a show.

Back in Cali, the Vega's have completely remodeled their kitchen and it looks awesome! I'm sure Rob and his fancy new Canon Rebel TI digital camera have some shots they could share.

As Adee-doo mentioned, congrats to Lola for the great results from her doctor! And remember, please do not wait till the last minute to see a doctor. Know your body and if anything "unusual" pops up go see a doctor!

Cathy is thisclose to leaving Fuller! She is at her psychological exam as I type and then she has a medical exam. If [and she will] passes, she will begin her employment at the South Pasadena Police Department! Congrats Cat! We all know you'll pass. It's the end of an era here at Fuller. Chris, Chavo, and I will miss you.

Try Some new stuff

I want to get a couple of things from all of you like your favorite movie, book, t.v show, sport, sport team, food, restaurant, place to travel, etc. Just to make some family favorites list on the side columns to fill them up a little more.

So let me know your faves of stuff.....

and if you got an other ideas for the side columns let me know

- Bobby Vega

Y Ese Milagro Que Me Dejo Ver?

I figured I would give you guys some time to miss me.

So apparently, from the gaps in our blog, no one wants to post. I don't have any gossip. I wish I did but I've been too busy being sick. I've been waking up with crusty nostrils. I kinda like picking my nose-hole open. Do any of you remember our cousin Alex how every morning he would wake up with crust-shut eyes? He even had to go to school like that and with time, his eyes would open back up. LOL. Sorry cuz, but thats some funny stuff.

Apparently Dolores and I like to pee with the door open. I like that, its so much more comfortable in there with the door open.

Speaking of Dolores, she got her results today and they were negativo on cancer so that's good news. We continue to be a healthy family.

Speaking of family, I always think of our relatives who aren't involved much. Such as Jorge. Things have change and they will continue to change and what are we doing? We look away because what we don't see, we don't know and we don't feel. Sometimes reaching out such as a phone call or a surprise visit makes a difference. We would hate it if we got "there" and said "I wish I would had ____". Accept, love and instill self-worth. It's not that hard.

Adeedodoo loves her family
