STOP and smell the blog!

As I sit here in the maddness that is my mom's kitchen, I am having a moment of sanity or insanity. Why is it wrong with being able to "stop and the smell the roses"? My kids were trying to get my mom's attention about something on the computer and she couldn't stop because she was to busy cleaning up the kitchen. So I started to reflect on this past year.....

....we had two new members join the family (sophia and evan),
a couple finally got engaged,
a few reached their 30's,
a family moved back to California from ugly 'ol el paso,
somebody stepped out of their alcoholic abyss,
some moved in, some moved out,
a long courtship ended in a beautiful August wedding,
we had some scary hospital visits (tia hortence),
the mountains above pasadena burned,
somebody got their driver's license, finally,
somebody got a new office job for the first time,
new cars/trucks were leased/financed,
some started their college education,
an adventurous soul skydived on his birthday,
Omar got on facebook,
we had a great 80's summer party (where a white boy won the dance contest),
11 cousins camped out to watch a teen-romance vampire flick at midnight,
twitter brought us together and apart...

let's see what else you guys can come up with. And let's try to encourage our parents to stop and smell the 'blog' too....

G's still on the HOOK

So with the news of Cristina's pregnancy, Gerardo was extremely happy. First he was happy because our sister didn't have to be deployed to Iraq, second she was going to have another baby and third...if Cristina had a girl, he would finally be off the hook.

My mom seems to think that in G lies her future granddaughter.

Now, his enthusiasm has been diminished with the GREAT news that my sister is having a baby boy! We were all hoping for her new baby to be a girl, but for the mental sanity of this little baby that might one day read this blog...WE ARE EXTREMELY HAPPY we are getting another boy to add to our mix of kids. It's already a riot when all five are together. Now with the sixth grandson coming, it's only going to get better!

So G, sorry, but yes, you are back on the hook. Come on!

Adriana, give us an update as soon as you can.

Otra vez unothetusuncles.

¿Quien le platica a Sira?

¿Quie le platica a Sira, lo que Gaby escribe en Tweeter?
¿Tu sabes algo?

Unothetusuncles quisiera saber.

Nancy is Pregnant with #2!

And it IS "oh so happy" - maybe just "oh so unexpected."

She is due in early June so you do the math. I am happy to be an Tia again and happy that Andy & Vincent will have a playmate [I predict a BOY!]! And because you want to know - my parents were NOT upset. They are just sad because when Nancy moves out so will Natalie [their 4th child].

This was Nancy's business and did not feel a need to announce it to the world, just those of us that are close to her, so no one was hiding anything. She just figured everyone would eventually find out without a formal announcement. But guess this is now the formal announcement.

The PINK ELEPHANTS ARE OUT!

Well, there has been so much happening in and around the Gonzalez family. I think I will go ahead and break the silence on some of the juiciest topics surrounding us. First of all I would like to give some of you a quick lesson: The pink elephant that sits in our home (room, living room, etc.) are the “issues” or “problems” that everyone seems to know about but do not speak about because we are afraid of not being able to cope with feelings/reactions/consequences. So instead of talking about that pink giant we all see, we keep quiet. Well, not anymore…I will point them out today!

As some of you already know, my grandparents have moved into a cozy cubicle next to the Lugo’s. Very convenient, close to most people (Pasadena/Altadena), however, my mom (hortenc), Lola, and maybe Julio (who visits almost everyday during his work shift) are the ONLY people who visit and make efforts to help them out, take them places, and so on. Someone in particular ALAWYS makes excuses to not take them to her/his house (will remain unmanned).

Yes, Martha and Cesar are engaged! Congrats. Finally (I feel you guys…the pressure). Cathy, Helen, Me, and a few others were wondering if we will be invited to the wedding.

There are 2 pregnancies in our family! Congrats to the both of you!!! Names will remained anonymous as one pregnancy is not “oh so happy” and the other has not been medically confirmed…just pee pee confirmed.

These are tough economic times…one particular family has experienced a hard hit. Sorry to hear that. I wish I had so much money to accommodate family.

Someone went back to live with “someone” under unknown conditions but reports gathered conclude it was involuntary.

I will be moving out of the Kenny and Milo house… “Oh so sad” L I will finally take my first step in separating from my mom. I will be living with Manfred. I announced it a few weeks back and expected an unpleasant response (“primero casate”) however, I found all to be very pleasant remarks (“hasta por fin”). I was planning on moving out this coming weekend but Hortenc decided to get sick.

Ummm, Kenny went to emergency…blood work came back clean.

I got chased by a dog this morning... My bark was louder.

My school loans kicked in…considered suicide.

GABY IS NOT PREGNANT!

I AM NOT PREGNANT! Just because I am moving in does not mean I am pregnant. Tough economic times don’t allow for offsprings at the moment.

What have I left out?
Adeedodoo is fresh!

Christy's Going To Iraq

In early March, Christy will be deployed to Iraq for a year. She has 3 weeks left in the U.S.A and then she's off overseas. If you get a chance to say good luck....Do it now! I hear cell phones aren't allowed while driving tanks and humvees.
